This role involves performing and overseeing a variety of land surveying services in support of transportation, utility, residential subdivision, and commercial site development projects.

ATCO is seeking a Washington State licensed Professional Land Surveyor to join our growing engineering firm! This role involves performing a variety of land surveying services, in support of our right-of-way and engineering teams on utility, residential, and commercial projects.
This is a W-2 position that will initially be part-time/piece work. Hours will not be regular; however, the successful candidate will need to be available for the duration of the projects when they come along. Candidates preferred in the Snohomish County area. Our main office is located at 708 First Street, Snohomish, Washington.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct land surveys and obtain various field data as needed
Prepare surveys, easement exhibits, legal descriptions and other documents
Perform staking of property lines, easements, right-of-way boundaries, and establish the locations of various equipment
Research historical maps, surveys, and legal documents to gather information
Plot metes and bounds descriptions
Collaborate with various customers and ATCO teams
Perform topographic surveys
Ensure compliance with all applicable survey regulations
Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations
Stay updated on the latest surveying technology and industry best practices
Required Skills/Abilities:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in land surveying
Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field a plus
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to project timelines
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Familiarity with the latest surveying technologies and techniques
Effective written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in the use of survey instruments and software, GIS tools, and CAD software
Licenses/Certifications:
Must possess a valid Washington State Land Surveyor License
Valid licenses in other states are considered a plus
Membership in professional organizations such as NSPS is also a plus
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s or associate degree in surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field a plus
Other Requirements:
The physical ability, on occasion, to work in the field walking, twisting, balancing, exposure to inclement weather, noise, and slippery and/or uneven surfaces
Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Requires viewing a computer screen for long periods of time
Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screening as a condition of employment following a conditional job offer
Must possess a valid driver's license and demonstrate a safe driving record through pre-employment motor vehicle record (MVR) review and throughout the duration of employment.
Requires use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement (IRS standard mileage rate)

Pay Range: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour, DOE
