Tukwila School District is located in a multi-ethnic urban community. It is located just fifteen miles south of Seattle.
Our students will inspire you. More than 2,800 are enrolled in five schools located within the limits of historic Tukwila. The teacher-student ratio averages 1:25. The district is represented by more than 71% students of color. Students represent many cultures and ethnic groups; many are refugees and immigrants. Our students speak approximately 65 world languages-a model United Nations. In 2009, the New York Times named the Tukwila School District the most diverse student population in the United States. Thirty-five (35) percent of students qualify for English Language Learner services. Seventy-nine (79) percent of students are eligible for free/reduced school meals. A certified staff of 180, classified staff 128, and an administrative team of 20 full/part time employees serve the district. As of November 2009, the district has 36 National Board certified teachers.

Benefits
Depending on the position, employees may have winter break, spring break, and summer break off. Beginning with Summer 2009, employees who work year round will be working a 4/10 schedule during the summer.
