Educational Service District 105 (ESD 105)
Company Overview
Educational Service District 105 supports public school districts and state approved private and tribal schools of South Central Washington in achieving student success. We help create safe and healthy learning environments, provide innovative educational tools, professional development and training, support and administrative services, technology and work to develop collaborative partnerships. As a service agency, our purpose is to meet the expressed needs of local schools by coordinating and conducting cooperative programs to meet the needs of students in the four counties that we serve. ESD 105 carries out liaison activities between local school districts, the Office of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education.
Company History
In 1969, our state's lawmakers enacted landmark legislation to replace 39 county offices of education with a more regional systems that was initially know as Intermediate School Districts. These organizations were created to expand educational opportunity by providing the best assistance possible to schools through a more efficient use of funds, strengthening the state's ability to offer quality, essential and economical education to all children. Today, after four decades of leadership and collaboration with school districts and education partners, Educational Service Districts have become a strong and vital link in Washington's educational system.
