That’s why we’re looking for a Sr. Analyst, Research and Competitive Intelligence to help us provide intelligence on current and prospective clients, industries, practice groups, market conditions and competitors to develop business and generate solutions.  

 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for... 

 

Intelligence Gathering & Analysis

  • Conducting research and analysis of clients, industries, markets, technologies, and competitors to support business development activities by practice groups, targeted client teams, or individual partners.
  • Identifying the strategic and legal needs of existing and prospective clients and collaborating with the business development team and attorneys to share potential opportunities for securing new business.
  • Assisting in the administration of the research intake process, as well as identifying and implementing efficiencies and improvements regarding intake and final work product.
  • Collaborating with attorneys and other professional departments to understand and evaluate the firm’s relevant intelligence needs, establish objectives, and design effective processes to address priorities.

Strategic Firm Initiatives

  • Delivering strategic opportunity analysis, in collaboration with Practice Management and Business Development teams, to develop and execute client expansion efforts.
  • Assisting supervisor in preparation of primary and secondary market research reports for presentation to firm leadership and practice group leaders.

CRO Education & Communication

  • Providing updates to CRO team on legal industry and market updates based on review of key market research, analysis, and surveys.
  • Coaching Business Development and Marketing professionals on how to best utilize intelligence and data insights in their respective business development and strategic efforts.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate...

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or education/experience equivalent required.
  • Proven experience in professional services or a consulting environment, including a minimum of five years market research/analysis experience, with an understanding of the legal industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, with extensive experience in Excel.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to and utilize new research databases and software, with a working knowledge of Capital IQ, Monitor Suite, Westlaw Analytics, and Bloomberg Law preferred.
  • Experience with the firm's current business intelligence software, which includes Information Builders and Power BI, preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of research techniques, methodologies, business terminology and concepts relating to corporate organizational structures and issues related to competitive business strategies.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify business trends to formulate recommendations for firm business development opportunities; develop reports for tracking and reporting outcomes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with high level of attention to detail, to include making persuasive presentations on research results. 
  • Ability to work in a consultative manner with a strong focus on client service and responsiveness; strong project and time management skills.
