Description

Dragonfly Actuarial is a boutique actuarial firm based in Eatonville, Washington.  Our current staff of actuarial professionals has over 50 years of combined experience, with significant expertise in the health insurance industry, with particular recent focus on large employer major medical, captive insurance management support, short-term medical, fixed indemnity plans, and ancillary products such as dental, critical illness and accident medical.  Our financial illustrations and analyses enable brokerage firms and MGUs competing in the large employer market to identify health insurance solutions of greatest value for their clients.  Our comprehensive program management services include pricing, experience analysis, competitive intelligence, underwriting, product development, bordereaux accounting oversight and reporting, and other ad hoc actuarial analyses as needed.  Our passion is providing meaningful expert support to leaders in the healthcare industry so they can make informed, data-driven decisions with confidence.  We provide strategic solutions to complex financial and actuarial problems, and we specialize in building strong relationships, enabling us to operate as efficiently and effectively as an in-house actuarial team.

We are seeking a Senior Actuary with 8+ years of experience and a background in health insurance product development, pricing, reserving, data analysis and presentation, and program management.

Company Culture

Connection and compassion are key at Dragonfly.  We are a tight-knit group that support each other and our clients in all things.  Our core values are:

Provide Meaningful Support:  We are a service organization first and foremost, focused on providing support that is actionable and strategic.  We build strong relationships with each other and our clients by empathizing and taking helpful action and taking responsibility for results.  We treat each client as though we have a personal financial stake in their success.

Be Trustworthy:  Trustworthiness has several components, not the least of which is being highly skilled in what we do.  We respect others, keep our commitments, and choose what is right over what is easy.  We are honest, open, and genuine.

Always Improve:  The only constant in life is change, so the only path to sustainable success is to constantly be improving.  We focus on getting it right over being right, and encourage everyone to stay curious a little longer, be humble, and step out of their comfort zone.
