JOB SUMMARY: The Clark Fork Coalition is seeking an experienced professional to temporarily join our team as an Accounting Manager, covering a 5-month maternity leave. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Accounting Manager is responsible for accounting systems, financial operations, internal control policies and procedures, and some employee benefit management. As part of a small, high impact team, this role plays a significant role helping the CFC fulfill its mission to protect and restore the Clark Fork watershed.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accounting Responsibilities:
Work with CFC’s Accounting & HR Manager to learn and execute accounting functions related to accounts payable/receivable, bi-weekly payroll, bank account reconciliations, and all other accounting required for implementing CFC’s projects and campaigns.
Support the accounting needs of all staff, including invoicing and creating financial statements.
Produce timely financial statements, which includes interpretation of organizational budget v. actual income/expenses and cash flow.
Maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and actual expenditures.
Other Responsibilities:
Work with CFC’s Accounting & HR Manager to manage employee benefits and administer to employees
Attend staff meetings, staff team building events, CFC Board of Directors meetings, and other CFC-sponsored events
Foster a positive, collaborative work environment
Maintain accurate documentation of work, including timesheets and required reporting.
Maintain a commitment to, and professional enthusiasm for, CFC’s work to protect and restore the Clark Fork River watershed
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree and 4-5 years’ experience in accounting, including compliance with GAAP and OMB Uniform Guidance
Superb skills in QuickBooks Online suite and Excel, particularly running payroll from start to finish
Ability to create and interpret financial statements
Experience with managing and interpreting organizational budgets
Keen analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Outstanding attention to detail
Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
Capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a high-energy, collaborative environment
Sense of humor and empathy
Passion for the mission of the CFC
