The Media Maintenance Technician 2 performs technical support and assistance to the Media Engineer. Duties include performing regular maintenance on media equipment, maintaining media equipment inventory, and keeping records current. This position is also responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment for event support. The applicant will provide assistance installing new or replacing equipment when needed.
This position reports to the Media Engineer and requires regular and consistent attendance.

Essential Functions:
Event Support
- Assist with the set up of media equipment for special events; assist with studio booth operation as needed.
- Verify the needs of clients, and ensure all equipment necessary is provided and in working condition.
Maintenance
- Applicant will maintain a schedule for the maintenance of installed classroom technologies to keep them in operational status.
- Under general supervision, independently perform preventive maintenance on media equipment; cleans, repairs, adjustments, and calibrations.
- Perform limited maintenance and repairs on computers. Applicant will report any issues found to supervisor.
Installations
- Under general supervision, independently perform a variety of installation activities on media equipment and systems varying from the routine test, of media equipment to the assembly and installation of audio-visual control systems.
Inventory
- Applicant will make sure all inventory records are up to date, including supplies, and maintain service manuals and records.
Requirements
Required Education:
- Associates degree in any field of study OR equivalent years of experience working in Technical Support, Event Technology, Media Services or Audio -Visual Technology. For an associate's degree, the equivalent work experience is two (2) years.
Required Experience:
- The applicant must have thorough knowledge and experience with multi-channel, live audio systems, both analog and digital, and the components used to support live events.
Special Requirements:
- The successful candidate must consent to and pass a criminal background check after a conditional offer of employment. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will considered in determining the applicant's suitability to perform in this position.

Technical Expertise
- Successful applicant will have basic troubleshooting skills and have full understanding of media systems, connectivity and termination techniques including soldering, crimp connectors, etc.
- Successful applicant will understand generally accepted principles, theory and best practices for media maintenance.

- Successful applicant will explore options when unable to deliver a requested product or service and pursue solutions until the customer is satisfied.
- Successful applicant will work independently with only general direction and minimal supervision. Will use skills and abilities to complete complex tasks, including which processes to use.
- Successful applicant has knowledge that is typically used to determine the best approach to solve a complex issue or problem.
Team Work
- Successful applicant will deliver media products and event services when and where the customer needs them.
