Description

Overview/Purpose:

The Bus Supervisory Assistant is directly responsible to the Director of Special Services and the Transportation Supervisor in the supervision of pre-school and/or disabled students.

Duties, Responsibilities:

        Supervise students by enforcing safety regulations while riding the bus.

        Assists in properly securing wheelchairs.

        Properly fasten in seats when required.

        See that each child is seated and stays seated.

        Other safety regulations.

        Help load and unload students requiring assistance, including wheelchair students.

        Work cooperatively with parents.

        Assist with the management of children with special health problems, e.g., seizures.

        Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor of Transportation and the Director of Special Services.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

        Be at least eighteen years of age

        High school diploma or its equivalent
