SummaryThe Driskill Hotel opened its doors in 1886 as one of the most luxurious Texas hotels in its day. Since its opening the hotel has been an integral part of the fabric in the city of Austin. With uniquely historic rooms and approximately 16,500 square feet of meeting The Driskill has been a gathering place for a wide variety of events since it's opening 139 years ago. The Senior Business Travel and Luxury Leisure Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth within the business travel and leisure travel segments by building and managing strong relationships with travel agencies, corporate travel managers, tour operators, wholesalers, and key industry partners. This role focuses on proactively promoting the hotel's services and experiences while identifying new business opportunities to maximize room nights and overall revenue. We are seeking a results-oriented sales professional with a passion for hospitality and proven ability to cultivate lasting client partnerships.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to selling guest rooms and Hyatt services to transient market customers through corporate accounts, travel agencies, individual travel and wholesale groups.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to increase market share and achieve room night and revenue targets
• Manage current accounts, build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with travel agencies, tour operators, entertainment key accounts, online travel agencies (OTAs), and wholesale partners.
• Conduct regular client visits, property tours, and sales presentations to showcase the hotel's offerings and drive bookings.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in both domestic and international leisure markets.
• Represent the hotel at key industry trade shows, roadshows, and networking events to expand the hotel's market presence.
• Negotiate rates, contracts, and packages with accounts to secure individual and group bookings.
• Monitor market conditions and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies proactively.
• Collaborate closely with Revenue Management and Marketing teams to create targeted promotions, packages, and seasonal offers that drive leisure segment growth.
• Maintain up-to-date records of sales activities, client interactions, and account management in the hotel's CRM system.
• Prepare regular reports on sales performance, business pipeline, and market trends.
• Engage with on-site team members to ensure seamless guest experience (reservation details, welcome amenity/card, room type etc.)
• Collaborate with the sales and event team to identify additional business opportunities

Qualifications
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of key accounts and agencies within the business travel and luxury travel segments
• Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated success in business travel or leisure sales
• Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, Hotelligence, Agency 360, Lanyon, and salesforce.com
• Willingness and ability to travel for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
• Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
• Community involvement and/or professional association is highly regarded
