Using discretion and judgment, ensures the availability of data needed by the assigned business unit. Works within team and creates new processes/guidelines and trains peers. Monitor data or service quality and resolve issues. Completes updates and takes responsibility working with different groups to help build out automation related to business needs. Works on special projects as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Processing/ Daily Work:
- Act as a resource, providing support and information for reporting and data updates. May monitor a variety of data checks to ensure accuracy and minimize risk.
- Completes key tasks in data update projects that require long term planning, coordination and communication with teams spanning the enterprise, business partners, and key stakeholders.
- Communicate data trends and issues to manager and helps determine a solution to resolve.
- Independently interact and coordinate with other departments to resolve questions and problems.
- Uses working knowledge and experience to participate in data related projects. Dedicates time to meeting with Business Units to scope out work.
- Create and produce reports as required to support business users at all levels.
- Takes on special projects and additional responsibilities as requested.
Processes:
- Works to find processes that will enhance efficiencies within team.
- Creates new processes, identifies areas for automation and resolves day to day issues by working with Internal technology and business partners.
- Identifies areas for automation around data delivery throughout the firm and works with MFS technology to develop those ideas, helps support planning and testing all the way through to implementation.
- Administers guidelines and training peers on new efficiencies that the team has taken over.
- Seeks opportunities for self and others that build out team skills and help make improvements for group.
- In partnership with Team Lead, acts as point person and problem-solving resource and liaison with technology support groups for outstanding system issues.
Assist Team Lead:
- Works as backup to team lead and assists with resolving important issues for group.
- Uses acumen and experience to make key decisions during project development and escalate issues to higher levels when necessary. Represents dedicated teams and ensures that the necessary considerations about data and processes are being addressed throughout the life of a project and ensures successful implementation.
- Acts as front-line support for assigned business units.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance or math-related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Financial Services industry in data quality experience.
- Experience using applications and/or technology systems currently used by the business.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to compare data from various sources, database knowledge and macro programming ability.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, decision-making skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships within team.
- Strong problem solving, communication, partnership, and interpersonal skills, collaborating with all organizational levels across MFS.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team environment as well as exercising independent judgment.
PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Work completed towards a Master's degree or CFA
