Description
Puget Sound Educational Service District seeks a dynamic, highly skilled Budget Coordinator. The purpose/s of this job is providing financial services to agency staff; developing, analyzing, and maintaining agency and departmental budgets; and performing Accounts Receivable, journal entry, and contract functions.
This job reports to Assigned Administrator

Essential Functions
- Attends workshops, in-service training, meetings, etc. for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and maintaining professional development.
- Collaborates with departments for the purpose of completing monthly debit/credit transfers of rent, phone instrument charges, conference room fees, copy and postage fees, etc. in accordance with budget parameters.
- Coordinates a variety of activities for the purpose of ensuring compliance with PSESD policies and procedures.
- Assists in the annual development of agency original budget and maintain revised budget throughout year.
- Evaluates financial information for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of reported information and the availability of funds in compliance with state, and federal regulations.
- Maintains internal and external Fee for Service contracts and MOUs for the purpose of ensuring agreement receivables.
- Maintains database demographics and coordinates data uniformity for the purpose of continuity of payor files.
- Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files and records for the purpose of providing accurate data in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Monitors fiscal and program information for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and conformity with budget requirements.
- Prepares written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, conveying information and/or complying with state, and federal regulations.
- Provides back up support to various business office positions for the purpose of providing support and assistance to business operations.
- Research financial information and documentation for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of program budgets and transactions, preparing necessary corrections, and adhering to policies.
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources for the purpose of providing information and/or direction related to business office policies and procedures.
- Trains PSESD staff for the purpose of providing ongoing assistance and expertise.
- Works in conjunction with Director of Business Services and Director of Accounting Compliance for the purpose of developing, analyzing, and maintaining
- Agency and Departmental budgets and fund balances.
Other Functions
Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

Responsibility

Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 90% sitting, 5% walking, and 5% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Community College and/or vocational School degree with study in job-related area OR GED with progressively responsible job-related work experience OR WASBO certification with progressively responsible job related work experience.
- Experience with accounting and payment systems and practices.
- Spreadsheet and database management experience, including data entry, manipulation, analysis and/or report creation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Washington Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) Certification.
- Experience developing and implementing procedures.
