Description
POSITION: Bus Driver- Substitutes and Extra Curricular Sports Drivers
SCHEDULE: Hours per day and start/end times vary by route; Monday-Friday; School Year and some weekends for sports
LOCATION: Transportation
POSITION TYPE: Classified, Substitute
COMPENSATION: DT:$21.70/hour-SBT: $16.66; Depending on years of experience- refer to Schedule A of the PSE agreement-Substitute hours are paid the month following when the work is completed
BENEFITS: This position is not eligible for benefits unless 630 hours worked
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Know, understand and apply practices of School Bus Driver Handbook published by S.P.I. and Cheney School District Standard Operating Procedure Handbook.
Drive buses on regularly scheduled routes or on field trips or activity trips.
Fuel and clean bus.
Maintain control over passengers as related to safety.
Participate in bus driver training courses established by O.S.P.I.
Must be able to perform SPRAGUE School District pre and post-trip inspections.
Keep supervisor informed as to condition of bus and accidents.
Report any accident or law infraction to director immediately

Requirements
Must possess valid Washington State driver’s license with necessary endorsements.
Must meet physical requirements established by Washington State law.
Must have and maintain a good driving record.
Must have a high school education or the equivalent.
Must be able to maintain good rapport with students, staff, and the public.
Must be able to work in a team setting.
